Haunui Farm graduate MELODY BELLE (NZ) (Commands) is the world's leading G1 winner in 2019 and on Saturday, added to her tally with an impressive win on arguably the greatest day of racing in the Southern Hemisphere, Derby Day at Flemington.
Lining up in the G1 Empire Rose Stakes over the mile, MELODY BELLE made light work of her opposition in the end, in testing conditions and coming from toward the rear of the field. The win was her 10th at the elite level and took her tally to seven in 2019 alone.
Born, raised and sold by Haunui Farm for our long standing client, Marie Leicester, MELODY BELLE has certainly made all of those involved in her road to success extremely proud and off the back of Saturday's performance, there looks to be plenty more in store for the five-year-old mare including a possible tilt at the G1 Mackinnon Stakes over 2000m on the last day of the carnival.
Haunui Farm is excited to be presenting Melody Belle's half-brother by Tavistock, at New Zealand Bloodstock's Book 1 Sale in January 2020. Her dam, Meleka Belle, has foaled a Not A Single Doubt filly this season and is set to be served by Champion sire Snitzel this season.
