Haunui Farm Update - COVID-19

logo

Obviously, we are facing unprecedented times here in New Zealand with the announcement yesterday by our Prime Minister, Jacinda Adern, that New Zealand has been placed on Level 3 alert with this being elevated to Level 4 by end of day tomorrow.

What does this mean for Haunui?

We have already taken steps to ensure that all the horses under our care will receive the same standard of care and attention to detail as you would expect.  Our staff have been fully briefed on how the day to day operation of the farm will continue over the next four weeks.

We have been notified by our feed supplier, NRM, that they are classified as “essential” and as such, our feed orders will continue to be delivered on a weekly basis without interruption.

We are also in the fortunate position that I am the resident veterinarian and I will be on hand, as usual, to treat any horses as and when required.

Animal welfare is of utmost importance and is possibly an area the government hasn’t considered when making this decision, however, rest assured, it is our top priority.

Given the restrictions in place, we would ask that you refrain from coming to the farm to see your horses however rest assured, they will be receiving our usual standard of care.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to be in touch with myself - 021 663 995 or, Shannon - 0212 855 513.

Please take care of yourselves, your family and your friends.

Best wishes,
